10 Best Batman Characters That Didn't Come From The Comics

7. Egghead

Harley Quinn
Warner Bros.

He might not be the most threatening villain in Batman’s rouges gallery, but he brings some absolutely golden moments to the table. Having debuted in the 1960s Adam West led TV show, it took him until 1992 to surface in the comics, and even that was only for a brief cameo.

The general idea behind him as ‘the world’s smartest criminal’ certainly as potential, but his longevity is severely dampened the constant connection to eggs. They’re not really the most malleable, and they’re neither cool nor threatening. While the eggs might have stopped him breaking out of the TV series and into the upper echelon, they certainly make him memorable.

His arsenal is one of the kookiest of any villain. His tear gas eggs are particularly weird. He didn’t manufacture them in a lab; they’re the product of chickens raised on a diet of onions.

Vincent Price’s iconic voice (he does the speaking parts in Thriller and is a classic horror movie legend) is absolutely perfect for the hammy performances the TV series offered. Price and West are a good match. Not eggs-ellent, but dep-hen-dable for a laugh. Sorry.
