Maisie Williams. The definition of perfect casting. She plays the intensely vengeful Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, and she is one scary teenage girl. It has been a joy to watch her transformation over the years, from a sheltered but tomboyish girl into a tough-as-nails, uniquely determined young woman. She manages to take all of the grief that Arya experiences (and this is a George R.R. Martin story, so there's plenty of grief to go around), and uses it to mold her character. It's character development at its very best. Arya is truly a character formed in a crucible, and she transforms pain into grit and determination. You can track her changes by something as simple as a steely gleam in her eye, as youthful innocence is replaced by a certain coldness and lack of feeling. Arya has nothing left but her hate, and it shows. But the truly amazing part? Maisie Williams is, by all accounts, a fun-loving goofball of a teenager. She dances in her free time (participating in flash mobs as well), and has seemingly mastered the art of Vine-making. So where does all the rage come from? Oh yeah...acting.
