10 Best Heartwarming Lessons South Park Ever Taught Us

9. Be Proud Of Where You Come From

In case you might be too young to remember, many people weren't sure how to react for quite some time after the September 11th 2001 attacks. It was an uncertain time in history that put many aspects of life into perspective.

Due to their quick production turnaround, South Park had an advantage to respond to the attack first. Audience' were hoping Trey and Matt would address the attack with some reservation and taste.

Rightly so, they did. In the fifth season episode "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants", the boys travel to Afghanistan to return a goat that was sent to them by their hilarious Afghani counterparts. Laugh out loud moments ensue, but it's the very end of the episode that sticks true the most.

After it appears Stan is convinced that America is the villain in the war, he debunks the statement and explains that while America might have some problems, it is where he came from and it's his home.

For all the satire and poking Trey and Matt do at America's expense, it was touching for them to say via the boys that you shouldn't be ashamed to come from a certain corner of the world, regardless of your beliefs.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
