The resident waiter at The Gangs favourite restaurant, this character is another who seems to be unable to escape the destruction of the main cast. This is a theme that will continue throughout the article. Played by Michael Naughton, the nameless waiter appears in many episodes of the series, the joke mostly spanning from the fact that he seems to work everywhere the central characters visit.
One of the best parts of the show is this weird feeling that fate ties the poor residents of Philadelphia to these despicable people, and this character is one of the prime examples of this. Throughout all of his appearances, The Gang make his time feel like hell on earth. Anyone who has worked in the service industry knows this feeling, making him all the more relatable.
The show also clearly appreciates him, as they even dedicated a whole episode in Season 14 to Frank attempting to live with him, and we even come to learn a lot about his desires and home life. The Gang Chokes is an excellent insight into what was originally simply a one-note recurring character.
