Played in Season 9, this song is certainly the one of the show's latest, but what a way to go out in terms of music! With surprisingly good production values for something the character supposedly created himself, the music and quality make up for the intended unoriginality in the lyrics. It is a complete ego trip for Barney as he utilises his soaring vocals in a way which could pump up even the most solemn of listeners.
As far as a job application goes, it definitely stands out, though I wouldn’t recommend making a song about yourself and sending it to a potential employer. However, even you had the voice of Neil Patrick Harris, it might be something you include in your repertoire when asked about your special skills.
Despite how purposefully cheesy it is, it always gets heart going - it's not always one you think about when you consider the songs in HIMYM but it's always a welcome surprise.
