10 Best Musical Numbers In How I Met Your Mother

5. Puzzles Theme Song

‘We should buy a bar’ – those are the five words which started Ted and Barney’s short venture into the bar-owning business. If only they’d gotten an actual bar rather than starting one in Ted’s apartment. The whole endeavour was a garbage fire, but hey, at least we got a killer song out of it.

This song encapsulates the brief joy in running a booming business as well as the swift downfalls and the complications which arise from Barney ‘s and Ted’s conflicting business outlooks. These conflicts can be heard in the lyrics themselves as Barney clearly wants to get girls drunk and have sex with them while Ted reprimands this approach.

The duet element adds a much nicer harmony between their voices than some of the other solo songs in the show, and again, it's just a nice song shared between these two friends. The song itself is well performed with humorous lyrics, and a backing score which is very reminiscent of sitcoms like Cheers.
