10 Best Performances In Scrubs
Scrubs: Ranking the ten best actor performances at Sacred Heart.
Like all great sitcoms, Scrubs is all about the character, and how each of them change with the show and tackle the often heavy themes thrown their way. The show was a perfect blend of comedy and drama, and though much of that is down to the remarkable writing, none of the show's strongest moments would have been as successful without its wonderful acting talent.
From the core group to supporting characters who helped fill-out the world of Sacred Heart Hospital, Scrubs was bursting with some truly brilliant performances. Whether bringing the comedy full-throttle or keeping the show grounded with some thoughtful musings about life and the everyday, each star brought passion and likeability to their roles.
The following list will take a look at the show's best performers, from the actors who barely stuck around but made one hell of an impression, to the core cast that kept the show moving through its funniest and darkest days. From the motor-mouthed doctor with a heart of gold to the scheming janitor out to cause some chaos, here are the 10 best performances in Scrubs.
10. Brendan Fraser
Brendan Fraser was around only briefly, but his short tenure as Ben Sullivan was enough to make him a fan favourite and the focus of one of Scrubs' most emotionally devastating storylines. Fraser appeared in two episodes during the show's first season, and once more in the third season, where his time on the show was cut brutally short.
But over only three episodes, Fraser proved to be a god-send. Not only did he sell the goofy, lovable nature of photographer Ben, but he also worked wonders alongside John C. McGinley's more intense and brooding Dr Cox.
Ben was a character who loved life, aimed to make people love him and never worried about where he was going or what he was doing. He represented a part of everyone at home, who wanted to cut loose and have some fun, and Fraser sold every second of his goof-ball antics and laidback nature. To see him taken so suddenly will never not hurt.
