Who doesn't get emotional when Dr. Doofenshmirtz talks about how hard he worked to find Vanessa her dream doll? Who doesn't get teary-eyed when Vanessa sings her song Not So Bad a Dad After All?

Episodes like this are the reason why Dr. Doofenshmirtz is one of the most beloved characters in the series — despite his occupation as a supervillain, the series often shows the evil scientist having a heart of gold especially towards his daughter. Fans of the show know how awful of a childhood Dr. Doofenshmirtz had, so the fact that he works hard to be a good father to Vanessa tugs at the heartstrings a lot.

Besides that, this episode is also really funny, especially when it comes to the scenes of Phineas and Ferb pretending to be old film style detectives.
