Quirky, unfiltered and heartfelt, Doom Patrol was the perfect breath of fresh air needed in the superhero genre. At a time when superheroes had become the go-to for every studio or network producing fantasy content, this DC Universe gem showed us that the genre is nowhere near out of new territory to explore.

Following the tragic tales of individuals who have faced the absolute worst of society, and themselves, the story shows these people come together, correct their inner flaws or in some cases embrace them, and become the absolute best versions of themselves.

From Robotman struggling to make amends for letting down his first family by protecting his new one, to Jane overcoming near endless waves of personal demons, and personalities, to show that she can care for others too, this had everything.

A slight blemish came in the form of the finish which didn’t really provide a satisfactory ending to the brilliant Mr. Nobody. But regardless, the show carved its own niche in arguably the most over-saturated genre out there today. Which is saying something.
