10 Best Spider-Man: The Animated Series Episodes

Venom and Carnage are iconic villains in Spider-Man's rogues' gallery, and while they have a few great moments in the animated series, the best deadly duo are by far the Green Goblin and Hobgoblin. Haunting Peter Parker and Spider-Man since Season 1, these giggling goons hit an apex in Season 3's Goblin War!

In the previous episode, The Spot enters the fray along with his Time Dilation Accelerator that gives its user the ability to portal-hop through dimensions. Unsurprisingly, this device draws the ire of many a man, particularly the Green Goblin and Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin grabs the device and betrays Kingpin. Kingpin threatens to hurt Harry Osborn if Norman doesn't stop Hobgoblin, unaware that the father is also Green Goblin. Felicia Hardy is unknowingly engaged to Hobgoblin. Felicia still has feelings for Spider-Man.

So many sins and secrets from previous episodes catch up to the characters, leading to inevitable turmoil. The story is fine, especially in how it sets up the following episode, but the battle between Hobgoblin and Green Goblin makes it great.

The two coolest characters in the series going head to head? Most kids would agree that one episode wasn't enough.
