10 Best Thanksgiving TV Episodes

10. Community - Cooperative Escapism In Familial Relations

NBC

Community is the brainchild of writer Dan Harmon, a show with an extremely storied history, facing imminent cancellation several times throughout its life yet proving sturdy enough to go on. The show focuses on a diverse study group from the community college Greendale, and explores the characters' relationships and wacky misadventures.

Cooperative Escapism In Familial Relations is the fifth episode of the controversial fourth season of the show, and centres on protagonist Jeff's encounter with his estranged father. Though many question the quality of season four, the writers undeniably took the characters in the direction they thought fans wanted them to go, and Jeff's resolution with his father is one such example.

While Jeff (with the questionable help of Britta) is trying to put things right with his dad, the rest of the study group are invited to Shirley's family Thanksgiving dinner, and wind up hiding out in her garage, planning a Shawshank Redemption-style escape. It's a high point in a season full of lows, and a great Thanksgiving special.
