8. The Magicians - “Oops!... I Did It Again”
When Elliot and Marina fight over control of the Moon, they manage to avert the apocalypse resulting from the Moon's alignment, but they managed to split it in half. That's not something anyone wanted, and the resulting apocalypse brought down by chunks of the Moon is only 12 hours away.
Ultimately, the Magicians fail, the Moon falls, and the Earth is destroyed. Reset. The whole thing begins again, with only Elliot and Margo aware that they are stuck in a loop. On the one hand, this is good since it might stop the apocalypse, but on the other hand, everything they try ends in failure.
Eventually, they discover that whales are actually ancient Magicians who are doomed to carve protective sigils onto the ocean floor to keep the Kraken at bay — seriously. When the Moon's fragments crashed into the planet, the Kraken was released, which caused the time loop.
Elliot convinces the whales to release the Kraken early, which resets the time loop to begin before Elliot and Marina tear the Moon in half. Once the loop reset, the Magicians manage to knock Marina unconscious, which left Elliot to move the Moon and save the world from the apocalypse, ending the loop.
