6. Fringe - “White Tulip”

The Magicians
Warner Bros. Television Distribution

The episode opens with the Fringe team being called to investigate a passenger car filled with dead bodies. When it's revealed that the victims' personal electronic devices are drained of power, Walter surmises that the people and devices were drained of their energy.

The investigation leads to Allistair Peck, whom they find has been working on time travel. Seeing the Fringe team, he travels back to the same time in the passenger car and attempts to remove any evidence of his being there.

The Fringe team arrive once more, but experience déjà vu. Just as they did before, they head to Allistair when it becomes apparent he's been trying to undo the death of his fiancée, who died in a car accident several months earlier.

Walter attempts to plead with him as a man of science and even helps correct his device so he doesn't end up in the passenger car. He recounts his own attempt to replace his dead son with Peter and tells him of the consequences of that action. He considers this but jumps back in time anyway.

He makes it to a field near the crash and manages to reunite with his fiancée long enough to say, "I love you" before the collision takes place, killing them both. Back in the present, none of the events occurred, and the loop is broken.
