10 Best TV Shows Of 2023 (So Far)
2. Somebody Somewhere (Season 2)
One of the most unsung shows currently on-air, Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen's healing comedy-drama Somebody Somewhere was already great in its first season, but has become altogether impeccable with its sophomore outing.
The tender, quietly amusing tale of a woman in the midst of a midlife crisis after the death of her sister, the series tackles the minutiae of life in all its nuance, heartbreak, joy and light. It's the kind of steady character drama that sneaks up on you, making you contemplate the musings it makes in relation to your own life.
HBO have many great shows on-air at the moments (The Righteous Gemstones almost made this very list), but few can claim to be as life-affirming and memorable as Somebody Somewhere, which is elevated to greatness by its impressively nuanced cast.
If you seek out any new show this year, I highly recommend you make it this one. You won't regret it.
