The first season's 9th episode, Baelor, will go down in TV history as one of the biggest audience betrayals ever... and it was brilliant. It also started a series tradition of something really big going down in every 9th episode. 

Season 2 showed what wildfire can do in The Battle of Blackwater, Season 3 offered a wedding the North won't soon forget and Season 4 went to The Wall to take on the wildling armies of giants and men. With so few true protagonists left, it's difficult to imagine all of the beloved characters surviving Season 5's ninth chapter, but no one knows better than fans do that all men must die. And women, of course. The god of death is very progressive.
