10 Big Time Actors Who Are Way Better On TV
8. Robin Wright
Robin Wright has always been around, but recently has made a satisfying comeback to the general public's attention. She's retained her fighter spirit and ethereal beauty, but has brought a grace and composure that wasn't seen before.
On The Big Screen:
So, what was seen before? Well, Jenny Curran in Forrest Gump: a great character fully realised, she is wild and free, but trapped by demons of abuse.
Then there's Roz in the ludicrous and self-indulgent Adore. With a shaky Australian accent, Wright is a woman who starts an affair with her friend's son, while her friend returns the favour with her own offspring.
In Your Living Room:
Luckily however, there's House Of Cards, in which she plays the utterly fascinating Claire Underwood. Husband Frank gets most of the attention, talking straight to the camera and murdering dogs, careers and people, but Claire is equally ferocious. She's uses her nordic beauty, scheming mind and unique relationship with Frank, to devastating effect. She is a Lady Macbeth, a spider, and a vulnerable girl, all rolled into one.
Best TV Moment:
"You are literally giving your blood". On the Underwood presidential campaign trail, Claire donates whilst fielding an interview. As her thick, dark blood pours out, so too donher insecurities. For a brief and crucial moment, Claire loses it.
