6. Underwhelming Human Villains

While the undead have long been the main nemesis of Rick€™s group, there€™s been a fair share of human baddies as well. Unfortunately, with zombies occupying most of their time, there€™s also been a recurring trend of featuring human villains with little character development.

Frustratingly, that often means the show boasts promising, yet short-lived villains like the Wolves Leader, Gareth and Dawn, all of whom showed potential in different ways but were dispatched before they could amount to anything significant. But then, when characters are given time to develop, the show hasn€™'t really succeeded either.

For instance The Governor was horrifically uneven and unbelievable. Ironically, in this case, the show spent too much time with him, leading to two complete episodes with him on his own that felt completely unnecessary. With Negan€™s introduction on the horizon, one can only hope that this trend has seen an end, and the show is given a fitting human antagonist for next year.
