10 Biggest Ongoing Criticisms Of The Walking Dead

5. Treatment Of Female Characters

For The Walking Dead, the prominent female characters typically get one of two treatments. The first type are hardcore killers like Carol or Michonne, with whom there€™s very few complaints. The other female archetype the show uses, and the one that people have a problem with, is the annoying female who gets in Rick€™s way.

This type of nagging housewife is best exemplified by characters like Lori and Andrea. Despite their intentions being good, these characters repeatedly got in the way of the main characters - specifically Rick - and acted irrationally in ways that negatively impacted the plot.

Just think how infuriating it was to watch Andrea contemplate killing The Governor in his sleep only to relent while audiences screamed at her through their TVs. It'€™s not a requirement that every woman on the show be a hardened killer, but they can€™t be holding back the heroes either.
