10 Biggest TV Disappointments Of 2015

7. Mr Robinson

Craig Robinson is hilarious €“ his deadpan delivery is matched by very few comedy actors working today. Over the years he's provided audiences with innumerable laughs throughout various television shows and movies €“ a few of his most notable roles include his brilliant performance as Daryl Philbin on The Office, and Nick in Hot Tub Time Machine. Despite his hilarity, Robinson has never really had a starring role. He generally performs as a side or bit character, which is why many people were excited when it was announced Robinson was getting his very own television show, NBC's Mr Robinson. Not only that, but he was set to portray himself as a struggling Chicago musician €“ just the kind of blend of reality and comedy that seemed like the perfect match for Robinson's deadpan demeanour, calling to mind the likes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Sadly, the result was far, far from the brilliance of Larry David. For a start, it's cringe-worthy as hell. These days, laugh tracks in a comedy are something of a red flag, and that's exactly the case with Mr Robinson. The dialogue is frankly terrible, and it tries to shoehorn in the catchphrase €œAw, hell no!€ at every conceivable opportunity. If that's not bad enough, it also features lines like €œOnce you go white, you're gonna be all right€ and €œShe's like a gremlin €“ just add booze and she goes crazy.€ Craig Robinson is a talented comedic performer, so it's just disappointing to see him wind up doing something so terrible. Looks like it's back to bit roles in stoner comedies for a while.
