7. Gorillas Can Flush?! (The God Complex)

Returning to Series 6, The God Complex is a cracking episode about a hotel with rooms containing everyone's darkest fears.

It co-stars Sarah Quintrell and comedian David Walliams, whose room is presumably full of outdated Little Britain sketches.

In the episode's cold open, Quintrell's character Lucy Hayward is confronted by her phobia. Clearly, she was terrified of that Cadbury's advert where a gorilla played the drums, because her room appeared to contain that very same gorilla - albeit a much more lower-budget version.

And as if this laughably fake-looking outfit wasn't strange enough, we first see the gorilla emerge from the bathroom... holding a roll of toilet paper?

What?

Is Lucy scared of gorillas in general? Or gorillas in toilets? Who trained that gorilla to use an indoor toilet? Why did it take the toilet paper out of the bathroom? We could go on.

The other fears in this episode - laughing puppets, sad clowns, Weeping Angels, and even overly-stern parents - are effectively portrayed, which makes this bloke in a cheap ape suit even weirder, and the fact that it appears to have just taken a dump doesn't exactly make it feel more threatening.

But hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go.
