The Deep Space Nine and Original Series crossover episode Trials And Tribble-Ations was absolutely bonkers (in the best way possible).

One of the oddest moments in the episode was when Worf was forced to explain to Bashir, Odo, and O'Brien that the group of Human-looking people in the bar were actually Klingons.

Up to this point, it was unclear whether the design of the Original Series Klingons was completely retconned after The Motion Picture, or if they actually used to look like Humans. This scene officially confirmed the latter, but Worf refused to explain why his people looked so different in the past, stating 'We do not discuss it with outsiders.'

Of course, we learned in the Enterprise episode Divergence that the Klingons became more Human-like because of a genetically enhanced supervirus spliced with Human Augment DNA. Though, when Trials And Tribble-Ations first aired, audiences were left guessing what could have possibly changed Klingon anatomy so drastically after only one generation.

We have to give points to O'Brien and Bashir though. O'Brien guessed it was caused by genetic engineering and Bashir guessed that it was a viral mutation, and they were both technically right (which must have really annoyed Worf).
