10 Buffy Moments That Hit You Hard

5. Xander's Yellow Crayon Speech

Xander was the Joss Whedon of Buffy. The everyman, the regular guy. No super powers, no magic, but a lot of heart. He was the guy always there for his friends.

So it was a bit surprising when it was Xander who confronted Dark Willow at the end of the sixth season. The previously sweet, nerdy witch had turned to dark magic to avenge the death of her girlfriend, and spiraled out of control in the process.

His speech, however, would bring tears to the most stoic of viewers.

"The first day of kindergarten, you cried because you broke the yellow crayon and you were too afraid to tell anyone. You've come pretty far. Ending the world - not a terrific notion... But the thing is... yeah, I love you. I love crayon-breaky Willow and I love scary, veiny Willow. So if I'm goin' out, it's here. If you wanna kill the world, well, then start with me. I've earned that."

It was, perhaps, Xander's greatest moment in the series.
