10 Categoric Reasons Why The Simpsons Is Better Than Family Guy

1. Cultural Impact

Homer Simpson's "D'oh!" is in the dictionary. Many Simpsons quotes and phrases are part of our common lexicon. The show is probably the biggest cultural phenomenon television has ever seen. Recite a quip from the Simpsons, and you've got a good chance of having anyone from 15 to 50 understand the reference. We know the couch gags, we even know the term "couch gag." We've seen celebrity after celebrity turn up on the show. Other shows have spoofed them, lifted from them, been inspired by them. Homer Simpson is as familiar to a generation, arguably several generations, as Walter Cronkite was during his nearly two decades as anchor on the CBS News. Yes, the Simpsons is the best animated series out there. It does it through accessible, timeless humour, solid storylines, a varied, deep cast of characters, and some of the best voice talents around. That's not to say that we don't love Family Guy, but there's only one King. Which is your favourite? Make your choice below.
