5. Courage the Cowardly Dog
Courage was quite a deep show looking back on it. It focused on the titular Courage who lived with his owners- Muriel and Eustace in The Middle of Nowhere. The three of them were often thrown into bizarre situations often involving the supernatural or aliens, leading the show to have a number of different elements such as sci-fi, horror and fantasy. Despite his namesake, Courage is constantly on edge and Eustace exploits this by often scaring him with a large, green, bug eyed mask. Muriel was always the damsel in distress every week and it often led to Courage having to battle to save her from whatever villain had turned up. He managed to defeat them through the use of his computer which he kept in the attic of the house yet he often ended up severly hurt by the end of each episode, only surviving by his incredible luck.
