The Jetsons was a show set in the future but made in the past, so to watch it now is to timewarp backwards and forwards at once. The show premiered in 1962, and is set around 100 years later. The charming Jetson family (who were basically The Flintstones at the other end of history) went about their futuristic business exclusively in clothing with weird collars (which tragically have yet to catch on as a fashion trend). Why not reboot The Jetsons using our current concept of the future? The first move would be making the majority of the characters not very, very white and removing some of the incredibly 60s gender roles. After that? Throw in some really fancy looking iPads and give the kids a healthy fear of water shortages and you're good to go.
