theSimpsonsSpun off from: The Tracey Ullman Show

In 1987 the fledgling FOX network introduced a sketch comedy vehicle for British-born comedienne Tracey Ullman.

The series was fairly well received and lasted four seasons. Even with some good reviews and memorable moments, who could foresee that the series€™ cartoon short would eclipse not just Tracey Ullman and her show, but everything on the FOX network at the time? The Simpsons is a monster hit. This month it concluded its 24th season, making it the longest running television series in American history. Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and the rest have become part of Americana, and they don€™t seem to be going anywhere soon. It€™s worth looking for some of the original Ullman show shorts. The animation is a bit cruder and the characters are not fully developed, but the spirit is there.
