Dawn and Xander being together just feels so wrong. Xander is much older and we're so used to thinking of Dawn as being a little kid, even though by this point in time she's an adult who is able to make her own decisions and live her life for her.

When they eventually get together, the end of magic means that Dawn starts to fade from existence which sends Xander into a spiral which leads him to betray the Scoobies by selling them out to the big bads.

After magic is finally restored and Dawn comes back, she has no memory of their relationship which hurts Xander but they still remain close and try to give it another go. Thankfully, it all works out and the couple eventually welcome baby Joyce into the world.
