10 Criminally Underrated Episodes Of Breaking Bad

4. Problem Dog (Season 4, Episode 7)

This episode is an acting showcase for Aaron Paul. Jesse is the problem dog, and he's being pulled in so many directions his head is starting to spin. The teaser illustrates the toll his murder of Gale is taking, and obviously, Jesse is cracking. While playing Rage, he keeps having intermittent flashes of his shooting of Gale. He also has to deal with the prospect of poisoning Gus with the vial of ricin under the constant pressure from Walt. Mike questions whether Jesse has loyalty for the right person. "Problem Dog" features Hank on a mission to find evidence against Gus, which finally gains some steam when he finds Gus's fingerprints on a Los Pollos Hermanos napkin from Gale's apartment, and Walt coolly blows up his car instead of returning it to the dealer. The best part of the episode occurs at a group meeting for drug addicts. Jesse's emotional outburst is a convergence of his many stresses and the moment is one of Aaron Paul's finest scenes in the show. This episode precedes the highly touted "Hermanos" and the whirlwind at the end of Season 4, but its many compelling moments make it an episode that should not get lost in the shuffle. Memorable Quote: Jesse: So no matter what I do, hooray for me because I'm a great guy? It's all good? No matter how many dogs I kill, I just, what, do an inventory and accept?! I mean, you backed your truck over your own kid and you, like, accept?! What a load of crap! Group Leader: Hey, Jesse, I know you're in pain... Jesse: No, you know what, why I'm here in the first place, is to sell you meth! You're nothing to me but customers! I made you my bitch! You okay with that? Huh? You accept? Group Leader: No. Jesse: About time.
