Stan is the protagonist in a Christmas story written and being read by Cartman for a class project. That should serve, at least, as the first indicator of how bad things are going to get.

Stan begins by discovering and helping a bunch of loveable critters, all preparing for their special Christmas. They need a manger for the arrival of their very own lord and saviour, naturally you're left to assume, just like Stan, that this is a take on the nativity, only with cute animals, Aww. But this is South Park, so naturally it's revealed that the critters worship Satan and are anticipating the arrival of their anti-Christ.

There's a lot of sick and twisted stuff in this episode: lion cubs learning and performing abortions, Santa Claus smashing the anti-Christ to bits with a sledgehammer. However, it's the very bloody sacrifice of Rabbity Rabbit on a stone altar and the subsequent critter orgy amongst his blood and entrails that takes the biscuit.

As Christmas specials go, it's amazing and unforgettable, it'll just scar your mind for all eternity.
