Beloved school gerbil Superdude was the class pet of Springfield Elementary's fourth graders, and passed away during the course of "Who Shot Mr. Burns, Part 1", creating something of a stink (literally). He was found dead by Principal Skinner before the children made it to class - avoiding traumatizing the youngsters, at least - and set to be buried by Groundskeeper Willie. However during the course of the burial, Willie struck oil, and the not-so-super corpse of Superdude wound up shot into the air, landing in a puddle of oil at some point. To add insult to injury, the kids would later complain of the smell Superdude left behind.
