10 Disturbing Facts About Mindhunter's Serial Killers

7. Elmer Wayne Henley Had The Chance To Not Be Involved

Henley is currently serving a life sentence for his part in the murder of at least 28 young males in the Houston area in the 1970s. Despite not being the one to actually carry out the acts, he was still indicted based on his role in luring people to Dean Corll's torture house.

However, Henley had the ideal chance to walk away from everything and even bring an end to Corll's actions before things got out of hand as they did.

Offered money by Corll in their initial meeting, Henley actually ignored the offer for a number of months before finally bowing to the pressure of simply needing some cash. He was promised the sum of $200 for every boy he brought to Corll. Sadly, he obliged on more than one occasion.

There's an argument that Henley was manipulated by Corll into everything he did. Still, he had his own choices and could have chosen a completely different path for himself and his eventual victims.
