10 Doctor Who Scenes You Weren’t Allowed To See
Those Doctor Who moments that just weren't meant for the eyes of the viewing public...
Considering that it's been going longer than most of its current fanbase has been alive, it's no surprise that there have been plenty of ideas pitched for Doctor Who that never ended up making it to the screen.
From things that were cut from the script, removed during editing, or just crazy ideas running through the showrunner's head, Doctor Who history is littered with plenty of awesome-sounding (or mad-sounding) scenes that we'll never get to witness.
The following ten scenes we're about to discuss all existed in one of the above forms. They've all been confirmed by people who have worked on the show, but never made it into the episodes for one reason or another, and thus cannot be considered a true part of Doctor Who canon.
Some were too scary, some were too long, and some just wouldn't have worked, but one thing they do have in common is that most of them were on the strange side.
10. A Crowded Regeneration
When David Tennant bowed out as the Tenth Doctor, he got a guard of honour to see him on his way, embarking on a farewell tour to say goodbye to some of his nearest and dearest.
And when it came time to bid adieu to his successor, plans were in place to do something similar.
Steven Moffat initially wanted a bunch of people from the Eleventh Doctor's era to turn up during his regeneration scene in 2013's The Time of the Doctor.
Onlookers would've included River Song, Rory, Rory's dad, The Paternoster Gang, Dorium Maldovar, and even Craig Owens. Yep. Seriously.
However, all of these familiar faces were nixed from the final scene, presumably because it would've been hella weird if they'd all just showed up in the TARDIS.
Only Amy Pond would turn up as a vision before the dying Raggedy Doctor, and based on the countless tears this moment caused, that was undoubtedly the right decision.
