10 Exact Moments These TV Shows SHOULD Have Ended

8. "The Gift" (Season 5, Episode 22) - Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Buffy's season five finale feels like a pretty natural end for Joss Whedon's hit fantasy series, and served as the "WB Finale" for the show as it moved to UPN afterwards.

"The Gift" brought the show's strong fifth season to a close with the sacrificial death of protagonist Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar)...which was immediately undone at the start of the sixth season with her resurrection.

It totally undermined the emotion and stakes of the season five finale, and it's not much of a coincidence that the two subsequent UPN seasons are without question the show's weakest.

There were certainly worthwhile moments after Buffy's death and revival, but this felt like the right departure point for the character and, ultimately, the show itself.
