The same problem that has befallen Meg has hit Chris as well: he just doesn't do a lot these days. Family Guy long ago became the Peter, Brian, Stewie, And Sometimes Lois, Show. Meg and Chris are just in it because it's a bit cold, even for Family Guy, to kill off main characters, especially kids. Chris hasn't done much of anything in recent years. At least not anything as entertaining as becoming Christobel, or fending off a bear, or having bigger junk than his father, or marrying a girl from an African tribe.
