9. Liam Neesons Career Path (Lifes Too Short)
The Warwick Davis-starring sitcom that melded the star-studded nature of Extras with the false-aggrandising nature of The Offices David Brent didnt have as much heart as its two previous creations, but that didnt stop it from bringing in laughs by the truckload. Most notable are the scenes with celebrities playing twisted, off-kilter versions of themselves, and perhaps one of the greatest is Liam Neeson visiting Gervais and Merchant as an aspiring deadpan comedian. Neeson plays the scene in his usual gruff-voiced 'take-no-prisoners' self, except in this version of reality hes cobbled together a mishmash of controversial topics in the hope of garnering easy laughs. As well as this are some absolute gems where Neeson asserts that maybe the reason he was hired in the timeless Schindlers List was because he liked making lists, as well as momentarily taking a pop at Gervais and acknowledging his critics by asking how he gets away with constantly referencing taboo subjects, the answer to which Merchant states, Honestly I dont know.
