10 Game Of Thrones Characters You Really Wanted To Survive
1. Eddard Stark
Really the audience should have seen this coming from the start, Sean Bean's characters rarely make it out alive.
So much of the Game of Thrones appeal revolved around the short lived character arc of Ned Stark. This was a guy who audiences spent an entire series becoming invested in. Ned was a sullen but honourable man, resigned to his duty in King's Landing, despite his better judgment. He had the task of mending the fragile and fractured kingdom of his old friend, Robert Baratheon, as well as trying to uncover the truth behind the plot to kill Jon Arryn.
Despite his honour, Ned was a man with a secret that tortured him, a secret that we as an audience were eager to find out. Long before the mystery surrounding Jon Snow was revealed, however, Ned lost his head, and audiences lost their faith that plot armour counted for something in Westeros.
Ned's death all but solidified the outbreak of war, and from then on out, audiences were left yearning for Stark justice for close to a decade.
