Xaro Xhoan Daxos' death was another deviation away from the books, but a rather good one at that. The rich man's games gave an illusion of wealth and power, when in reality, his vault was an empty farce. Ironically, the only thing still sitting in his vault is himself and Daenerys' traitorous handmaiden Doreah. The pair were thrown into the darkness and it looked all set to become their tomb, though we didn't hang around in Qarth long enough to find out whether they were freed. It's highly unlikely, and their relevance to the story would be virtually over regardless of how alive they are, but could they have been freed when people came to investigate his abandoned quarters?
