10 Game Of Thrones Scenes WAY More Brutal In The Books
1. 'Sansa's' Wedding Night
The lowest moment in the show came when Ramsay brutally raped Sansa while forcing Theon to watch. You're thinking how could this scene have been any worse? But what George R. R. Martin originally wrote was so twisted this looked like the PG version.
In the books Sansa is nowhere near Winterfell, she's still in the Vale of Arryn embroiled in Petyr Baelish's plots. Taking her place is her childhood friend Jeyne Poole. The Lannisters and Boltons claim she is Arya Stark in order to cement the Bolton's hold on the North.
Jeyne Poole, posing as Arya, is forced to marry Ramsay. Her wedding night is one of the most disturbing events in A Song of Ice and Fire. Theon is forced to strip Jeyne, noticing whip marks on her back. He is then ordered to make Jeyne "ready" for Ramsay with the use of his mouth. Theon considers slitting Jeyne's throat to spare her the ordeal, but he's too afraid after Ramsay threatens to "nail his tongue to the wall" if he does a bad job. It's also implied that Ramsay forced Jeyne to perform certain acts on his dogs.
Eventually Jeyne and Theon escape and are found by Stannis' forces.
