10 Great Moments in Red Dwarf

2. Arnie's Army ("Meltdown," 1991)

Looking back at this list, I notice a preponderance of episodes from series four. Well, that€™s because it€™s a great series and ended on a great note with this episode, where Rimmer ends up in charge of an army made up of wax androids based on various famous celebrities, including Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Queen Victoria and, memorably, Elvis. Rimmer€™s incompetence gets all of them killed, leaving him with a victory as Pyrrhic as any can possibly be. But to Lister€™s annoyance, all Rimmer can do is focus on his own glory. What happens to Rimmer next is justly deserved and disgustingly hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0INpj__GCbI

1. The Rimmer Experience ("Blue," 1997)

Ah, good ole Rimmer. The man really is a comedy gold mine, and his character is perhaps at his egocentric best in this representation of a theme park ride based around him and his perceived greatness (built by Kryten to help Lister get over the fact that he misses the recently-departed Rimmer). There€™s not really anything more that I can say on this subject. Just watch the video and marvel. Toodlepipski! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ZiI3iVgpM (Honorable mention: Holly€™s April Fool€™s Day prank, two Rimmers in €œMe 2€, Kryten defeating Hudzen 10 with an existential crisis, and, of course, Mister Flibble)
