1. Tony Soprano on The Sopranos
In a series finale that split its fan base into disgruntled and ecstatic, The Sopranos
ended with Tony's implied death. Tony meets his family at a restaurant for dinner while a sketchy looking dude with a gun hangs around their table. The scene cuts to black at what feels like a random moment and the audience is left to visualize their own ending. Some chose to cherish this choice made by show creator David Chase and be happy with the Soprano family left in series finale purgatory with their fate forever undecided. Others were less than excited and felt cheated out of a final sweet moment with Tony Soprano, the ultimate conflicted character. And mobsters always have such great last words! Tony's last recorded words are about a basket of onion rings he orders for the table. He could have had such a wonderful final speech, or a confrontation with his killer, it's just not fair!... But is mob life ever fair? Nah. Nah it ain't.
