10 Great TV Shows You'll Never Watch Again (And Why)

3. The Wire

Game Of Thrones Danaerys Death
HBO

Even if you haven't seen The Wire, you know about it from that friend of yours who lied about watching it to seem smart. The Wire has that effect on people. But for anyone who actually watched the seminal series, they know it as one of the greatest shows in the history of TV.

The Wire was set in Baltimore and covered different aspects of the city while maintaining key cast members from season to season. Created by police reporter David Simon, the show was praised for its realistic portrayal of society, politics and urban life. It also used real-life figures of the region to fill both cameos and recurring roles.

If you're one of those people who pretended to watch The Wire, you should actually watch it. This series can be difficult to work through because of how real it feels, but it's definitely worth it. That being said, the same realism makes The Wire difficult to watch through again. It can be a heartbreaking show at times thanks to the gritty reality, and not necessarily a world you want to revisit.
