In another episode that looks at the world of Batman from another pair of eyes, The Man Who Killed Batman is about a small-time crook, Sid the Squid, who dreams of making a name for himself - and gets exactly what he wished for when he appears to have accidentally killed Batman. But fame isn't all it's cracked up to be... It's a enjoyable concept for an episode, where Sid goes from enjoying his newfound reputation to running from the real dangerous criminals of Gotham, even though - spoilers - we know Batman isn't dead. The highlight of the episode is, as ever, the Joker who in a fantastic scene gives a heartfelt eulogy for his fallen foe - before saying "well, that was fun. Who's for Chinese?" Proving that Batman need not be a major figure in his own show, this is one of the smartest and most blackly comic instalments of the series.
