One thing that separates movie and TV extras is that TV extras have a chance to appear on the same show for years at a time. Many shows use the same locations with each passing season, so if you're an extra who lives nearby, then hey, why not stick around?

This is exactly the case with a Walking Dead extra called Alexandria Resident #9, who currently holds the record for the most appearances by an unnamed character.

First appearing in the season five episode Forget (where, in the opening two minutes, she opens the Alexandria gate for Sasha) she's managed to survive all the way through to the show's current, final season, fighting off zombies, dealing with human drama, and performing guard duty - all without uttering a single line of dialogue.

Like the other recurring extras on our list, Alexandria Resident #9 has developed quite the fan following, with some viewers praising her specific acting performances (like when she absolutely books it down the street in another season five episode, Try), and others simply amazed that she's lasted this long.

Maybe she'll die in an upcoming episode, but even if she does, she'll undoubtedly be remembered as the MVP of Walking Dead extras.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
