10 Greatest TV Villains Of This Generation

10. Lenore Bernard - Hung

Hung, starring Thomas Jane and Jane Adams, was a massively underrated series that told the story of Ray Drecker (Jane), a high-school athletic coach who turned to male prostitution in order to earn a bit of extra money. In a TV generation that seems built on shows that focus on characters going to extremes they never thought they would, usually due to some variation of outside circumstances, Hung might seem like just another attempt to cash in. But Hung was an exceptionally written series, with the lead villain in Rebecca Creskoff as Lenore Bernard. She begins as one of Ray's clients, but over the course of its three seasons, the saga of pimp vs. pimp becomes a fascinating game of wits. As Ray's friend, and pimp, Tanya (Adams) tries to keep Lenore from overtaking their business, the stakes become much bigger. Creskoff is fabulous in the role, with just enough caustic wit to edge out her deep-rooted insecurities and biting business tactics. Though her overall arc is left unfinished due to the sudden cancellation of the show, Creskoff masterfully crafted a villain that didn't need murder or intimidation, just her own sense of pride and fury.
