You already knew that The Elephant Man director/ reigning king of weird cinema David Lynch’s iconic series would be on this list, but we’ve singled out the 2017 Showtime project Twin Peaks: The Return, rather than original 1990s soap opera/ mystery procedural hybrid, for good reason.
And that reason is, between the Black Lodge, the Arm, and JUDY, Twin Peaks: The Return is one of the most nerve shredding-ly terrifying pieces of TV ever made.
Free from the constraints of network television, Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost crafted a deliriously scary eighteen-hour nightmare no less chilling and unforgettably unsettling for its many comic asides and odd diversions.
Gleefully weird and perversely dark, this one is not to be missed by horror fans.
