10 Incredibly Annoying Classic Kids TV Characters

1. Ma-Ti (Captain Planet)

No joke, when I did a quick Facebook poll with my mates to see who else hated particular TV show characters, (I like to think of it as 'Primal Status Therapy'), Ma-Ti ranked the highest. How did Ma-Ti earn the concentrated wrath of a bunch of twentysomethings? Whilst the rest of the Planeteers had supercool powers over the elements, such as Earth, Wind and Water, Ma-Ti had Heart. Heart. Good lord. He came across as one of those earnest, super-intense hippies who bores you to death in a pub about the plight of the Alaskan sea tortoise, or some other such thing. Really, think back to the days when you were a kiddie in front of the tube, engrossed in this program - what did the power of 'Heart' actually do? I can only remember Ma-Ti once mesmerising a leopard - I think that happened, it could have been a sugar-induced dream - the rest of the time he was just sobbing and getting kidnapped. And he was just such a sanctimonious dweeb, and in those public service announcements at the end of the episode, it was like he was even smugger than usual. His pet monkey should have bitten him and given him a particularly strong strain of rabies. Let's see you use your terrible power to get over that.
