As with the Toymaker, fans cottoned on to the identity of Yasmin Finney’s Doctor Who character pretty quickly: she’s Donna’s daughter, Rose Noble.

But could she be hiding more secrets? After all, her mum did experience a human/Time Lord metacrisis!

Although the DoctorDonna is no more, we know from The End of Time that her mind isn’t entirely free of Time Lord energy. So what if, during Donna’s pregnancy, some of that energy was siphoned off to her child? If so, Rose could've unwittingly inherited some of her mother’s abilities. She could be part Time Lord.

There's also the bizarre possibility that, because the metacrisis stemmed from the Doctor’s spare hand, he could technically be Rose’s ‘father’ (please don't go there Russell).

We know from the trailers that Rose discovers Beep the Meep early on, but if this theory is correct, her alien encounters will be more life-changing than initially thought, reawakening a part of her psyche that she wasn’t even aware of.

And if her mother’s history is anything to go by, the consequences could prove fatal.
