10 Insane TV Details You Never Noticed

5. J.D. Points At The ABC Logo - Scrubs

The Sopranos
ABC

Here's a detail you've almost certainly missed if you've only watched Scrubs in more recent years, given that the gag's meaning is lost on anyone who didn't watch the show during its initial TV run.

The season eight premiere "My Jerks" saw Scrubs move from airing on NBC to ABC, and to mark the occasion, J.D. (Zach Braff) begins the episode by pointing at Janitor's (Neil Flynn) "watch" and proclaiming, "Huh, that's new."

If J.D.'s pointing seems rather awkward and unnatural, that's because he's actually pointing at the ABC logo which would appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen on its original network broadcasts.

And so, if you watched the episode in another country or view it today on Disney+, the gag just comes off as mildly confusing. Even if you saw the episode on ABC as it originally aired, though, it was still subtle enough to easily be missed.
