10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

2. The Turtles Dimension Jumped Via Cow Head

Daredevil TMNT
Archie Comics

Archie Comics' TMNT Adventures series is regarded as the first truly great Turtles comics after the original Mirage run, and for good reason. They were goofy, fun, but also compelling and action packed, getting away with a lot more than their TV counterparts could.

But for as weird, surreal, and shockingly politically charged as this series could get, none of it topped one of the first foreshadowings of just how strange this comic was going to get. To get from alternate dimension to alternate dimension, the Turtles had to enlist the help of this floating cow head of eldritch horror to eat them, and then spit them out in another dimension.

The comic tries so hard to portray him as this adorable cow, but one need only look at the above image to know that this abomination knows only pain and fear. Not his pain and fear, mind you, but pain and fear all the same.
