10 Moments That Almost Killed Star Trek

5. The Death Of A Legend

After The Motion Picture, the studio cut the budget and sought a new creative team. That team made the best Star Trek movie ever. At the end of the movie, they killed the best Star Trek character ever.

Fans were so mad that they started sending death threats to Leonard Nimoy. Impeccable logic right, you so passionately want the charter to live that you threaten to kill the person who plays him. Zachary Quinto was only five at the time, so, he couldn’t have replaced him. Nor Ethan Peck, who was yet to be born.

Eventually, the death of Spock got so much negative press that the name of the next film, which has Spock in the title, was put on the end credits of Star Trek II.

Star Trek fans always seem to get what they want. Are we that scary?
